Mind Burn underrated
In my opinion, Mind Burn is underrated. I never see it used in any PvP arena. Mind Burn has the potential to do over 120 damage with a quick cast and quick recharge, and as a bonus sets them on fire. It is good for taking down individual targets, too. Before I had Factions or NF (when most other people DID have them), I used a build involving Mind Burn to quickly take down almost any target. What are your thoughts on this skill? Is it just me, or is this a good skill that gets no attention? Advice on why it is almost never used would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Ah yes, Exhaustion. But because of its low energy cost, would it really hurt that much? (unless you spam it)

exhaustion
but seriously, why would you use a skill that deals 120 conditional damage when you can just use [rodgort's invocation] which inflicts basically the same effect minus a few seconds of burning, plus its not elite.

I dont use [rodgort's invocation] because of it's long cast time and HIGH energy cost. It's a BIG target for interrupters from my experience.

Energy isn't really a problem if you use your elite slot for something such as mind blast which can also be used to fuel other skills to help your party..
The point is, if you're casting it so often that the cast time would really effect you, you would be screwed over by mind burn's exhaustion anyway.

It's not like a 1 second cast is any harder to interrupt, you know...
Rodgort's Invocation is a big target for interrupters because it's actually a threatening spell, whereas something like Mind Burn is not really potent enough to warrant an interrupt.
[Mind Blast] will easily compensate for the energy cost, and in addition, it will fuel support skills to support your party (which is really expected of PvP elementalists).

I've seen it used a plenty of times in RA, usually in exhaustion causing builds that can only spike one player or eles with daggers that use it as a finishing move. Really not good of an elite though imo, use mind blast and rodgorts like others have mentioned and add in augury of death + flame burst or inferno to spike if you want to.

Searing Flames outperforms Mind Burn in every way since all it takes to do damage is just mash 1111111 on recharge with a Glowing Gaze occasionally.
If Searing Flames mechanics was to be revised and nerfed then maybe Mind Burn will see more play.
Other 'Mind' spells are much more better. Mind Shock comes with 20% armor penetration and a KD; good for a ele spike build. Mind Freeze is good for snaring kiters or potential targets for melee spike.

Eh, I've always found [Searing Flames] to be quite dull. Unless you have two or three other SF spammers, you'll find yourself inflicting only burning and casting glowing gaze, with the occasional damage dealing. I'd rather take a Rodgort Spammer over SF

Not when the effect of the spell outweighs the price of exhaustion.

I think he ment arcane echo not echo, but meh mimicry is too much work and too much can go wrong to rely on it for your elite imo.
